Fabric Technology

Our signature blend: Barino™

'Too sweaty. Too cold. Too smelly.' Most socks are made from whatever’s easiest to source. Cotton, polyester, cheap synthetic blends that trap moisture, lose warmth, and barely breathe.

We wanted better: Softness without sweat, warmth without bulk, breathability without compromise.

So we created our own formula, a custom-spun blend of premium Australian Merino wool and bamboo. Two of nature's best fibres, known for their performance and comfort.

Our process

Why our yarn feels different

Our fabric starts by blending Aussie Merino wool and bamboo fibres before they are spun into yarn. This means the fibres are carefully cleaned, combed, and mixed together into a single, unified strand.

Unlike the usual approach, where two yarns are simply twisted or knitted together, our fibres are blended at the very core.

This custom-spun yarn is softer, stronger, and more breathable because the fibres work in harmony at the most fundamental level.

Challenges

The hard way, but the right way

Finding the right manufacturer wasn’t easy. Most turned us away the moment we mentioned our custom yarn blend. Too hard. Too expensive. Too time-consuming, they said. Many offered compromises, using separate yarns twisted together during knitting, but that wasn’t good enough.

We wanted a true blend. We weren’t after shortcuts.

We met with textile experts and sock factory owners, sitting down to work through each challenge.

Our persistence paid off when we found spinners and manufacturers willing to craft this yarn exactly as we envisioned, with craftsmanship and quality at every step.
